What is the radiation dose of dynamic DR equivalent to a low-dose chest CT scan

In modern medical diagnosis, radiological imaging technologies such as dynamic DR (digital radiography) and CT (computed tomography) play important roles. These technologies provide doctors with intuitive and clear internal images, which helps to accurately diagnose diseases. However, radiation dose has always been a focus of attention as it directly relates to the health risks of patients and healthcare workers.

Dynamic DR is a rapidly developing imaging technology in recent years, which has two modes: dynamic/static. This means that in addition to being able to perform ordinary X-ray shooting like traditional static DR, it can also capture real-time dynamics of the shooting area through high frame rate and multi angle acquisition technology, synthesizing hundreds of images captured in a short period of time into a dynamic video.

At this point, some people may question whether the radiation dose of dynamic DR is very high when taking hundreds of images at once, and how does it compare to CT?

In fact, the radiation dose of dynamic DR is not high because it uses low-dose continuous photography technology. For example, the total radiation dose of a certain brand of dynamic DR in one imaging is 1.66mGry, about 0.23mSV, which is equivalent to the dose of a low-dose chest CT, lower than the recommended limit of 1.9mGy by international standards (IAEA chest anterior and lateral).

Nowadays, DR devices are more intuitive for monitoring radiation dose, thanks to the development and application of DAP dose monitoring systems. For example, the dynamic DR of Puai Medical is generally equipped with a DAP dose monitoring system, which can display the dose intensity of a single exposure in real time. Doctors can effectively control dose intake and avoid excessive radiation based on the data displayed by DAP, thereby protecting doctors and patients from unnecessary radiation injuries.

With the continuous development of science and technology, dynamic DR will have more development space in the future and be applied in more fields, such as pediatrics, orthopedics, respiratory medicine, etc., to provide high-quality medical services for more patients.
